A two day conference curated by MACC which examined the concept of collective and personal memory, and how these build our general understanding of identity and history through archives. The first day, focusing on the more human side of archival methodologies and practices, including the panel ‘Rooted: Curating Countercultures and Embodied Practices’.The second day taking focus on how new technologies, such as AI, have been used in the creation of new memories and histories, but also its limitations and biases.
Contributions such as panels discussions, presentations, seminars, screenings and performances took place for a dynamic conference.
‘Rooted: Curating Countercultures and Embodied Practices’ is the panel mediated by Maria Herrero Tejada in conversation with Stephanie Colclough and Charmaine Wah. This panel discussion was firstly introduced by two short presentations by both Stephanie and Charmaine, touching on their embodies praxis and the use of countercultural values as a curatorial methodology, followed by panel discussion.
The closing speech of the conference was delivered by Maria.
